Default 15 Round Magazine For Glock 22

I purchased a Glock Model 22 yesturday...... brand new, $425.00........
only problem is the Dealer only had 15 round magazines for it and hadnt noticed....... He did sell it to me and told me i could have the Mags once I get hired on by my interviewing PD but who wants to wait that long?? I was able to find 15 round magazines all over the web seemingly accessible to me..... for the price I paid I dont mind having to source the 15 Round Mags myself, just wondering if anyone knows whether or not i will in fact be able to have those shipped from out of state......Basically the Dealer did me a big favor by selling me the gun so cheap, but at the same time neither one of us wants to pickup the tab for the 10 round mags he is able to sell to me.....my standpoint is if im gonna order extra mags (the two he isnt releasing to me will eventually be in my possession) i may as well order 15 round mags, am i right?

BTW He mentioned I could have a friend either in LE or DOC pick them up for me but it just seems like an inconvenience for them in my mind......any other suggestions??

YOU CAN NOT IMPORT THE 15 ROUND MAGS. 100% AGAINST THE LAW!!!

Buy 10 rounders until you can legally acquire the 15 rounders.

I will add you can not even possess 15 rounders unless you owned them before the ban.

Trading would be breaking the law.

Yes......And im sure they wouldn't.....sometimes California laws make no sense to me.....Illegal to sell, not to own, so long as ownership dates back before....... I guess im just sometimes unwilling to admit what I already know....

That is usually how it works when they ban something. They grandfather the ones in possession at the time. Only other way is to ban them and have you turn them in to be destroyed.

If you want those 15 round magazines, wait until you're a sworn LEO and pick them up then. Until then, you should just buy a couple of 10 round magazines and use them. It is illegal for the dealer to sell you the 15 round mags and illegal for you to import them from out of state...

Don't chance it. Just buy a couple of 10 round magazines and call it good for now. Later, if/when you're legally allowed to take possession of the 15 round mags, do it then and only then.

Let us not forget the law enforcement code of ethics you will be learning:

Sometimes items are marked LE. That does not make them illegal. You should be good to go on the light.

+1

Sometimes the "LE" designation is more about marketing then truly describing a product.

Keep in mind what BV said... many items are marked "Law Enforcement." It doesn't necessarily automatically make them illegal, often it's just who the company markets that particular product to. There are some items that really are for LE/Government use only... but those are generally certain specialty items and/or ordinance and your use of them as a regular person would be actually prohibited by an actual law...

Just something to think about.
