You just asked a basic question about legallity of buying / owning high cap mags and also posed alternatives to following the law. All of which you should have known were illegal.

Actions speak louder than words and while I may be speaking aloud and freely about something that frustrates me, it doesn't mean I intend to or have begun to cross the line into what would be considered unethical. This is by the way a forum where one can share and express different ideas and points of view. I guess my posts seemed a bit too serious for some.....maybe I should also include J/K's, LOL's, and so I won't be taken so serious. given to you after the ban=illegal
imported into state after the ban=illegal
bought from someone in state after the ban=illegal

manufactured, imports into the state, keeps for sale, or offers or
exposes for sale, or who gives, or lends, any large-capacity
magazine.

To clarify a bit here, if you owned high-cap mags prior to 2000, you have the legal right to use and own those mags. If they wear out and need to be repaired, you can buy parts to repair them. There is no limit to the individual piece parts that you can repair, only that you owned a part that was manufactured and owned prior to 2000.

IIRC no law on the books bans the possession of high caps.

You must have owned the mags BEFORE Jan 1, 2000. No way to legally own them after that date. Unless one is a LEO. LEO may have them for personal/professional use.
