If I had to guess, they probably have metal detectors at the entrance for concerts, but it probably depends on who is in concert, if its a rap group you can bet they will, but if its Englebert Humperdink; probably not and you will be good to go.

The last concert I saw there was Dave Matthews band. No metal detector, no pat down, a cursory search of women's purses.

The opening act was Ziggy Marley. Both the parking lot and the theater had a certain illegal stench that took weeks to get out of my leather jacket.

Pot heads are non violent thus no need for metal detectors, go to a 50 Cent concert and I assure you will have metal detectors.

I prefer to be one of the first two kind and to learn from others' mistakes.

Thank you for the welcome. So far I'm very impressed with the site and the members. Very sharp people! Anyway the concert was a classic rock concert and now that I think back it might have been a bit more than two years ago, more like 4. Time flies after you retire.

I was at that concert too.

I agree with what others have said though... it's going to depend heavily on the event. DMB fans = pretty friendly crowd. 50 Cent fans = shoot you for looking at them the wrong way... OK, not all of them. But you got the idea.

Made the mistake at a show a few years back about not knowing for sure.
Had my .38 in my purse and ended up in line behind a woman with a huge bag they were searching by flash light right next to the sign that said NO GUNS..etc at the gate. Since I my hubby was holding up the line waiting for me they waved me on in without searching me.
