Found my answer: NO

Pursuant to Colorado law (CRS 18-12-213), the State of Colorado will recognize a valid permit issued in another state IF the permit was issued to a resident of the state issuing the permit, and the permittee is 21 yrs of age or older, AND the other state recognizes Colorado permits as valid in their state.

Yeah, I was hoping too... Or at least that I could combine my Utah Non-Resident with my CA Resident and make it in, but nope to that either!

I vacation every year in Durango & Ouray. I love that part of the state.

You choice is change vacation plans, or post the "no guns allowed" signs at your Colorado vacation enclave. Personally, i have made a lot of plan changes on trips and vacations, based on where I am allowed to legally carry. Worth it, IMHO.

I prefer to be one of the first two kind and to learn from others' mistakes.

Nope, actually California has nothing to do with this law. It seems like some lawmakers in CO got the bright idea that they would not accept non-resident licenses in their state, so if had a non-res license, even if they accepted the resident version, yours would not be valid. No, it makes no sense to me either, other then just to deter some law-abiding folks from visiting the state of CO. Does it make them safer? Not.

Our family has gone to Durango/Purgatory for the three years prior to this at Christmas for a week of skiing. Not this year. I'll spend my money in a place I'm appreciated.

Default Well, it is an opportunity for a civil rights lawsuit.

Let's take a look at Colorado's law.

If you have a Utah permit and reside in Utah, you can carry, but if you reside in California and have a Utah permit you can't carry.

Let's see, you would be allowed to carry if you changed your address from California to Utah so in essence you are being denied rights and privileges only because you are a California resident.

Let's see, the way the law is written, no resident of California can carry, but residents of XXXX number of states can.

The second amendment foundation will be holding their gun rights policy conference in Phoenix Arizona from Sept 26 thru Sept28 this year.

May be a good place to go and network.
