Cool Just Asked Sandra Hutchens About Ccw

I JUST ASKED "SHERIFF" SANDRA HUTHENS" THE QUESTION ABOUT "CCW' IN ORANGE COUNTY, THROUGH "KDOC" TELEVISION DAYBREAK SHOW.

The "answer" she gave was that she would "follow the law," and was going to "REVIEW each and every current application, and current "issuanes." She also said that she may "LIMIT the time for expiration," based on "need." She is still "concerned" that there may be CCW out there that were issued due to "friends and associates of Sheriff Personel."

Hopefully, since she is going to keep Jack Anderson on as Asst. Sheriff, that he will explain to her that the new system and policy that has been going on for a while now, has been successful and fair to all who apply.

Very nice job.
Her answer makes me worry, though. I am talking about limiting the time for expiration. Maybe I am just reading too much into it. We will know very soon where she really stands on the issue I think.

Great job! Cant imagine her reading thousands of good cause statements and having to make a determination of validity or if they were friends of Mike Corona. Sounds like the beginning of a difficult and long road.

I'm sure she'll delegate that to someone below her, at least to separate them out by category.

Likely someone with a restrictive view on issuance/good cause.

The selection of who does that first pass review will be the most important decision she makes in the process.

Unfortunately, that's like answering that question by saying she supports the 2nd amendment. As Sheriff, she can't do anything to change the 2nd amendment. And LA Sheriff Baca also "follows the law" when it comes to issuing CCWs. He has to. They both have to, because it's the law. I'm not convinced yet, but we will have to wait and see what happens.

It will be very interesting to see what happens going forward. Anything could happen, but it's probably a pretty safe bet that if she has any similiarity to Baca, she won't be issuing very many permits.

Indeed, not the answer we're looking for, but unfortunately, might be the case...

Her statement is pure political administrative double-speak. If she's coming out of LASO, she has no real indoctrination nor experience with CCW's. You Orange County Citizens need to keep on banging the drum, call her, write her, pose the question each and every time she makes a public speech to a citizen's organization. She has no idea that there is such an organized CCW constituency in Orange County. It is important to saturate her office with your interests and concerns, during the time that she is attempting to get a handle on how Orange County feels. Let her know about it at every turn in the road! She is your employee.
