Default San Bernardino.

I talked to one of my friends today that I have been helping with the process in San Bernardino County.
He tells me that the sheriff dept. has been receiving a real high volume of applications. Where the normal amount of applications per month would be 30-40, now they have , as per his words, more like 200.
Due to the limited staffing to deal with the process, the time now is getting to be in the range of of a year more or less to get the permit issued.
I will be coming to that time for me to renew later in the year. Don't know what awaits this time.
The SBSD has always been extremely professional and respectful in all my dealings with them. Most people that I know who have a CCW from SBSD have mostly similar experiences. The one interviewer that they have is a quite a gentleman and the person who does the range class puts on a heck of a class.
Wish I could do something to help. All done in the interest of helping to expedite the process. The thing call "work" and daily survival seems to limit us in the management of time.
Nevertheless, I am grateful to my sheriff!

Perhaps you should contact the issuing authority and inquire as to renewal time and if you need to start the process very early. I would imagine they attempt to give renewals a certain priority.

I wish there was something we could do to provide them with extra, free, low level labor. Something where their their current people would still make the decisions, but a volunteer (with appropriate credentials) could put the packets together and get them ready.

For Orange County, I have been told 45 days, prior to the expiration date.

Yeah, it is prudent to get a heads up on timing of the renewal process.

Thanks for the Info X-ffdo. I just passed it on to another member who moved from the OC to SB.
