I mailed mine on 01/28, it was delivered on 02/04, my check was cashed on 02/29. Thursday, 03/06 I revieved a large envelope from bci that had been mailed on the 3rd! I exitedly opened it to find my fingerprint card returned with an x through it and a couple new blank cards to redo my prints on
Turns out that the card I sent in that I had done at my local PD had CA DOF in the ori box, the replacements say Utah BCI. I felt stupid for not thinking about it before and my instructor never warned against it. MAKE SURE YOUR FINGER PRINT CARD IS BLANK IN THE ORI BOX OR GET IT FROM BCI. I called to make sure they still only needed 1 card as they sent 2 and a very nice Lady told me they send 2 just in case there is a mistake on the first one. There was a number written on top of the old card and I asked if they wanted it on the new one and she said it was my permit number and asked me to put it on the new card.So I express mailed the new card number on friday they'll have it when they get in on Monday, back to waiting but the delay is definetly my own fault. Hope this helps someone else not make the same mistake. Tom |

I give out BCI Blue cards to my Utah students. I get them free 100 at a time. I thought all Instructors did that. Oh well, I'm sorry for your delay.

It took almost two weeks before they processed the fee on my bank card. Soooo, it looks like they're backed up again. I'll let you know when mine finally arrives.

For awhile last year after that shoot-em-up at the mall, processing times were displayed on the web site. Now the web site says they are processing in 60 days as required by law Utah Department of Public Safety - Bureau of Criminal Identification.
They went to processing resident apps then non-residents as time permitted while they caught up. I guess they now are. |

My Utah CCW arrived in the mail 3-17. It took 52 days. Nothing spactacular. Just a regular envelope with the "State of Utah" stamped on it and a laminated card inside. There was a paper with the card describing how long the permit is valid for and some general rules. One interesting sentance in the paper says "this permit is valid contingent on a satisfactory history report being received from the FBI." It sounds to me like they issued the permit even though they have not received the history report from the FBI yet. Anyone else get this paper with their Utah CCW permit?
Anyways i'll be in Arizona this weekend so I will be CCW'ing. Unfortunatly there will be no WalMart for me to go to for the traditional nachos. GMan
