Default Anyone know if Utah CCW class will be offered in NorCal soon?

Anyone know if a Utah CCW training will be offered somewhere close to Eureka soon? They offered it a year ago and dummy me did not sign up. I might have to travel just to attend one. Maybe if we can get an instructor to come up here is we can get enough people here interested.

I prefer to be one of the first two kind and to learn from others' mistakes.

Put on by alpha safety training.

That might be a bit of a drive coming from Eureka or anywhere in Humboldt County, but Jim Amentler of Alpha Safety Training really is a very good instructor. What you can also do is go to the Utah BCI website (don't know the url, sorry) and look up a list of instructors for California. I'm sure that you can find certified Utah Instructors in NorCal without much trouble.

Greg-Dawg: I don't think you're going to be able to get you UT CCW in time. Their approval timeframe has been around 40 days, from what I understand. A couple people got theirs within about 30-35 days. The UT BCI's website says that they're processing applications within the 60 days required by law, but nothing more specific that I can find.

Thanks akula, I'll end up taking a course and apply in Salt Lake. I just have to find a good instructor in a foreign land-UT. Anyways, I'll be making other trips to UT.

FYI - I sent my papers in on Jan 31st to UT & FL ... FL cashed the check Feb 12th and I just saw that UT finally cashed check on Feb 25th, so your days are numbered.
