Didn't Glock advertise their "Safe Action"? Which seems to me deceptive at least in part. Right up there with Glaser "Safety Ammunition".

Also I was thinking about this and how is the trigger rated for amount of ounds "pull" or "press".

My guns are rated at 4lbs trigger "pull" not press so I am quite sure you dont press the trigger being that its pulled back toward your body. Then again a not so smart person could be looking at the gun then press it, lol.

Pull on the slide over the recoil plug to draw back the slide and peak inside to me thats a press check not a pull the trigger check.

I have also heard it referred to as a "press check" The point CCWI is making is that it is safer and more correct to call it a "chamber check" since that is what you are doing. Using the phrase "press check" could result in an AD if you are dealing with a Darwin candidate.

Glock has a great PR and advertising department. I bet the people that came up with "Safe Action" are the same people who said smoking is safe.

In modern marksmanship training, a student is instructed to "press" the trigger, not "pull" it.

Hmm I guess this sort of like hearing guys at the range call magazines "clips". We know what they mean but is not correct technically.

Regardless the gun should always be pointed in a safe position so no matter if it did fire still no harm done. This is why I get mad at people cleaning a gun that still point it all around the room saying, "dont worry its unloaded". Always handle like it is loaded is the way I hold mine.

Either way even on my SA TRP it has that stupid notch for a round check but I would still like to see down in the action with a full view for peace of mind.

Yup thats what I meant. Kimber makes good stuff. And any company that makes a design that is approved by SWAT, MARINE RECON, NAVY SEAL etc. Deserves the bragging rights. I was commenting on the BS CALDOJ safe list.

No offense meant to Kimber.

Very smug statement coming from an LEO. We all know that any other than original stock gun parts could be potentially exploited in a court of law, including the fact that for SD most people shoot JHP bullets. Now polishing a feeding ramp.........
