Default Greetings new applicant in Placer

Hey everyone. I am applying in Placer and have my interview on 3/27. I have my good cause selected (occupation as a branch manager of a bank). I would like some feedback on the wording and help expanding on it. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to CalCCW, determined. You've come to the right place for help on your journey.

If you haven't done so already, please read through our General Frequently Asked Questions section. You'd may be suprised at how a lot of questions you might have are addressed there as well as some to provoke thought about your desire to be licensed to carry in California.

Good luck in your quest.

I received my license in Placer back in October. I won't comment on your GC, nor will I discuss mine, but I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about the process. Overall, I found the process to be quite professional and was pleased with the PCSO.

Best,

The Smeeze

P.S. First post!

Welcome aboard to the both of you, Determined and The Smeeze. It might be best not to attach your CCW with work if you can figure out another GC. If Placer Co. is easy going enough, another GC may not be difficult to state.

Lincoln sure has changed. There are still some cows, horses, and turkeys on the land surrounding Lincoln and a shooting range just outside of town.

I obtained my training through the Lincoln Rifle Club, website here: Official Lincoln Rifle Club Website. I believe they generally use one of two instructors, Grant Macumber (sp?) and Lee McGriff. Live-fire qualification is at the Lincoln range.

As a general note, the required CCW "training" is a discussion of the applicable law and a brief live-fire qualification; it is NOT training that will improve your shooting skills or your defensive mindset. If you are approved and plan to carry regularly, I suggest you seek further training and/or participate in IDPA or USPSA to hone your skills.

-The Smeeze

P.S. I don't like Cordova Shooting Center either. Go to LRC. You'll like it.
