Once someone is approved. You must then do the livescan. That will take at least 2-3 weeks for the results to be completed. So you will have plenty of time to do the 16hr class while you are waiting for livescan results.

you are right Buba. and I have seen others call each instructor on the list and go with the cheapest price. You get what you pay for. I went with the 1st instructor on the list, I learned a whole lot more than what i paid for the class. Was worth every penny! Can't put a price tag on knowledge.

Speaking as one of those trainers on the list... in Kern...(We have more than 3 trainers in our county...and there is alot of competition )
I encourage people to call and talk to the trainer or go into the shop and meet the person. Check out the evironment and ask around. One of the great things about this forum is the opportunity to ask people what they thought of the trainer. I know that I am not the best trainer for certain types of students and would suggest they go somewhere else... Others come to see me every two years... like clockwork, because they really like the family environment we provide... my wife makes cookies for her classes etc... Most of the instructors will give basic knowledge but if there is a personality clash... well... it ain't worth it...
