At the time it was a double stack mag. It was just too bulky for me and I found that carrying the mag in my pocket worked better. I now carry a single stack mag, so that makes it easier too.

I carry a Glock 23 with 13+1.
I also carry a knife, pepper spray, and a surefire flashlight.
I use a nylon IWB holster that has an extra mag slot to put in an extra mag or a flashlight.
While the nylon pouch is not quite as secure as the leather ones, I like having to capability of carrying an extra mag or light.

I've seen the mag he carries, what he doesn't tell you is that it's one of these:

Welcome...

ALWAYS = a reload or a second gun.

I have personally never been in a situation where I thought...gee...I have too much ammo here...being a reasonable about the whole subject... however, I carry 13 plus one in the tube of the old XD 45 and a spare magazine... if I carry a 1911 then it's two spare magazines as they don't take up much space in the pocket of my jeans/cargo pocket/mag carrier....
Having said that, I have need of a light alot more than I have needed ammo....

After 27 years of ccw and (the first time I drew a gun on anyone I was 21 and working in Garden Grove as a clerk in a gun store) and 21 years as a LEO of varying capacity, I have never had to fire at the beastie... I have needed that flashlight alot...

Choose well....

Thanks for the insight. I probably gonna toss one of the mags in my veh. and keep the surefire on me and an xtra mag in my pocket. I guess it wouldn't hurt to have a small flashlight around...

I have been wearing Woolrich pants... lots of pockets including a "mag" pocket or cell phone pocket on each thigh...they fit loosely around my middle age me...very comfortable and the pockets are big enough to hide a model 22 glock ... if I had a pocket holster big enough! With an IWB holster and a loose shirt it is very incognito... pockets for the knife, light, wallet, ammo, cellphone etc.... it probably has a pocket that would be ideal to place money in...if my wife ever gives me any I will let you know......

Hey Blackhorse1, after all these posts I am now curious as to what you carry on your CCW and how you carry it.

I carry a S&W SW9VE, 15+1, Galco IWB opposite a DBL mag pouch and a surefire.

I ditched one of the mags off of work and carry a spare and the flashlight in a FOBUS paddle. It seems a spare is always a good idea and a flashlight is handy I suppose...
