Default Picking ip my CCW today

I went on my interview on May 8th in San Bernardino County. As I write this I am going to pick up my permit from Shurly at SBCSD. She called me and told me that they were sending my permit out, and that she noticed that my name was spelled incorrectly, and if I would come down and resign the permit and that I could pick it up then. A few days short of 6 months. WOW. My friend in OC had to wait just over a month.

Default I had my interview on April 18th ...

got my permit issued on October 15th ... six months; they're backlogged and they have a few people assigned to review and work on our apps. I was very pleased they approved me; and impressed with their professional attitude and friendly demeanor. The long wait was worth it and about average because of the huge number applications that came in the beginning of the year. Be safe, wise, and slow to anger; you now have a huge responsiblity on your shoulders and on your hip/belt/briefcase ......

San Berdo sends theirs folded and laminated so it can fit in a wallet without resorting to origami.

I am the "friend in OC" that TomG is talking about. I applied for my permit in August, and got it in September.

As for holster selection, TomG has been preparing for 6 months, wearing holsters around the house at night to see what works best for him. I suspect that he sits around on Sundays in his Chad Johnson jersey and TJ Whosyomomma underroos with a holster around his waist, eating Cheetos and watching the Bengals lose again... luckily, I have no personal knowledge, but that's what I suspect

Of course, I sit around in my Igor Olshansky jersey and watch the Chargers do the hot/cold thing from week to week! Damn you AJ!

Yeah,
Nate is right. I don't have any Chad underoos, I'll have to do a google search and see if I can find them online. I do have a nice Carson Palmer banana hamick that I do wear on Sundays. As far as holsters go, I have a Wilson Lo profile for my 5" 1911, a K&D Defender for my Kimber Ultra Raptor II, a 3" 1911, and a Tucker "The Answer" IWB for HK P2000SK. I ordered a CompTac for the HK for outside carry for the P2000. I like the the pancake holsters, they really bring the firearm close and tight.

CONGRATS TO TomG!!
mine was sent to my business address; nearly everyday for six months I kept expecting it at my home address. I was surprised to see it mailed to my biz address, I felt the envelope and could feel something that felt like a credit card and thought this is IT!! Opened it and there it was, laminated and ready for my wallet. And then I felt so grateful; pleased and filled with joy!!!

Yeah, I remember the late unpleasantness with regards to people being denied in batches and CCWI being asked to assist PSD. Because of the turn around in personnel, the approval process went from a couple of months to a couple of weeks. Alot of people were surprised at how efficiently the process is being handled now and how such a pleasant experience it has become.

Sir! Unfortunatly that way to much information. You have a great sense of humor. However, the visual just sounds scary.
