Just found the GAO Report from 2003. Go to page 10 where they describe the 14 week program for Air Marshals got cut down to 5 weeks for candidates with no LE background and 1 week for ones with LE background.

i can understand loosing your car keys......but forgetting your gun.
keys one can get into your house, car, mail box, etc? but a gun is a very deffernt matter. ANY officer who forgets / looses there gun should be suspended (with out pay) for a review. i am a class A truck driver and i am required to do a number of things in my job and MUST have certen items on my person when on duty. so any leo (including any armed security) should be held to a higher standerd then any one else when it applys to there wook tools. ![]() |

As a point of contention from a common citizen.
It is public knowledge, at least to a part of the population, that federal agencies vary on how they mandate their federal agents to carry or transport their weapons. My personal point of view is that whatever you do not keep on your person is bound to be left behind sooner or later. I do not have a PhD, but that is just Murphy at work, tell that to the moguls who run things, maybe some day they will see the light. You wonder how many weapons are actually lost and never brought up to the awareness of the public!. But Oh no!....They know better!. Politics, turf and CYA come first! ![]() |
