Default CCW in los angeles(age problem)

I am currently 19 and turning 20 in January.

I work security for crime and gang control and have been green lighted for a hit by one of the gangs in my area.
This means they want me dead for anyone who doesn’t know.....there is a filed report and I was wondering if my age would keep me from obtaining a CCW.
I currently have to check my firearm in and out of a safe at work.

Any information would help....Thanks a lot.

My boss has offered to help in any way……and please don’t tell me I have to be 21 to buy a gun…..this I already know…….I am looking for a way around this because I want the ability to protect my self at home and on the streets.

Thank again.

Wow! You are in a double pickle! First, the age requirement for a HG, and then the fact that LA County rarely issues.

Some cities issue, negating the need for you to go to Baca for the permit, from whom you most likely would never get one. What city are you in?

Sheriff Baca.

I know that El Segundo issues without sending you to the County (Baca). Maybe someone else here can fill you in on if your town also issues without referring you to the County (You will have to be issued by your city that you live in, you can't cherry pick).

Pick up an application! (You still have the age problem, though)

You will need to put your CCW guns on your permit. You will need your own gun.

All very good points OCRancher.

The age issue is one that will be most difficult to overcome, but not by much. Location soulds difficult as well.

It never hurts to make a call and inquire and ask for an application. It's all part of the learing process.

We WILL NOT advise you of any way to get around California State Law.

Sorry.

Either transfer locations within your company or get a new security job. You don't have the option of a CCW.

Get out of there. The way gangs operate a CCW probably won't help you anyway. If it's a hit you'll never see it coming.

I'd advise against taking a CCW application, especially if you plan on staying in your county. Having applications rejected can hurt your chances later on.

forget about a handgun at your age. you can however own rifles and shotguns.

buy yourself a security shotgun and keep that at home, and just be careful when you're out and about. its about your best option. There isn't any way you'll circumvent the age requirement for owning a handgun.

The 21 year old age requirement is sort of like the drinking at 21 requirement, you don't really have a work around for that one. Time machine? I have not heard about an exemption from that restriction.

I think the legal question has been answered. Plus we will NOT advise how to get around the law. Case closed.
