Default Husband & wife CCW?

Hello,

I just introduced myself on the newbie page, but forgot to ask a question. My husband and I are both interested in getting CCWs. We completed our class yesterday and will go to pick up applications this week.

Is it an issue for both a husband and wife to get CCWs? Like only one in the family or household is likely to be issued?

We're in Nevada County, btw.

Thank you!

Susie

I think they will evaluate each of you separately and will issue, or not issue, based on your good cause statement.

No issue that I know of. CCW is issued to an individual on the basis of his/her character, background and good cause not a family/household.

In your county the main focus will probably be the background check. Good cause is still required. You need to state (not here.. but on your application) reasons why your personal safety is at risk more than that of an average citizen. Make sure you work on your good cause BEFORE you apply or you could blow it. Simply wanting a CCW because you like guns won't work.

For help with your Good Cause contact CCWI after you have put together your best statement of GC. He is our resident expert here. Do not state your GC here in public and contact him via e-mail with GC review in the subject line.

Thank you for your replies.

I had read in so many other posts to contact Greg and I did. He was very helpful.

Looking forward to getting the process started!

Good luck. Greg is wonderful and very well versed with the GC statements.

There is no issue about both hubby and wifey having a CCW. Personal knowledge on this.

It is not an issue. You will be looked at individually and awarded (hopefully) on your own merit.
