Hello everyone I have been looking over information in regards to applying for my CCW. To give a little information that would help you in attempting to help me. I live in Sacramento, CA.
Okay I was reading over the application process of how to get a CCW from the sheriff's department here and on one of the sections it says I must have written documentation from police reports if I'm applying for personal safety of myself or my family. What if I never reported anything that has happened over the past year will that pretty much deny my CCW application? Here is the background in a nutshell. I have been going out with my current girlfriend for a little over 2 years and she has an ex boyfriend who won't stop bugging me everytime he runs into me. He has repeatedly threatened my life, my mother, and my son. I have been very patient and have done everything to stay calm and keep a cool head in the midst of all of this. He usually says these things to me through the window of my car where I sit calmly. He says these things only loud enough for me to hear and no one else. He also has stalked my mothers house numerous times by waiting around the corner at the end of the street and even backing his car up the driveway to look into the garage a few times. I called 911 one night to tell them that he backed his car into my mothers driveway so he could use his bumper to look into the garage. They told me there is nothing that they could/would do since he did not go to the front door to force his way in. That is the only time I have ever decided to call law enforcement in regards to him. I never bothered again since they basically told me that he has to be trying to force his way in to do anything about him. Every time I go to visit my mother's house I constantly have to worry about him stalking in the area. I fear for the safety of my family and my 2 year old son and was wondering if anyone could help me out with pointers for my CCW application. He has also been known to have a firearm in the past. Legally I'm not sure. Last edited by jokerswyld95 : 10-10-2009 at 10:24 PM. |

I would write down some notes to the best of your recollection and go down to the main police station and talk to someone about filing a complaint. I think it's still illegal to threaten someones life. You'll need the "who, what, where, when, etc" dates and times too I'm sure. A witness to any of these episodes would be nice. Create a paper trail quick.
I don't know your county and the friendlyness towards ccw, I'm sure a local Sac member can pipe in soon on details to your application questions in your county. Good luck with this and stay safe. Last edited by JB-Norcal : 10-10-2009 at 10:47 PM. |

Welcome to the forum. You will find many people here willing to help.
Is moving out of the question? 1. You can move to a CCW friendly county 2. You will be farther away from the creep Consider a restraining order. Thats good written documentation. |

Welcome Jokerswyld. Sound advice from above, and if properly applied it may create Good Cause enough for a permit. Documentation is the key here so start writing it down.
