it will be a change as far as HOW I can deal with people-but really little change in my initial response. I have been told de-escalation is a huge part of the academy and at least I am ok with that. Thanks to those who got me over to calguns, I've gotten a ton of help and ideas on how to best prepare to join. If nothing else this ccw process has helped me get ready to deal with ccw holders! ![]() |

try to tell the detective that you do not intend to use your ccw for your work.tell them you just want to be able to carry your weapon legally while you're of duty because of the threat your job might imposed.my friend is an armed guard in one of the groceries here in delano and some of the thief they caught made a promise to get him back.this is the main reason he applied for ccw(he's from Tulare County) because he can't carry his duty weapon off duty while he is with his family.just be honest and i'm sure the detectives would consider your case considering all the hard work that you did and that you are a good person.don't give up.god bless!

Well, I've tried that-didn't seem to help. Currently I work at a hospital ER security and I've already (2 weeks in) have had a few threats directed towards me while trying to calm down families-etc. So a few days ago I called and left a message for the CCW people explaining that I've received some threats/promises of violence towards me by people. I also informed her that I would be taking my POST entrance test in December for the modular academy. I dunno if that's enough, but she hasn't called back since-I guess she passed it on to the Sgt. I mean I have a clean background, already did my ccw class, got approved once, we'll see. thanks
