Default Federal CCW permit

A guy I work with told me 2 of his friends who are just average joe construction workers have federal CCWs that are good for 5 years for 3 guns. I've never heard of such a thing and my google fu is weak today and I didn't find any definite answers on this subject.

So is this guy full of it, or is there something to this?

I doubt there is a "Federal CCW" for "regular folks"... If there is, I'd be very surprised.

Default some of those..

..have license to carry across state lines; some work for 'fugitive recovery' and have 'federal authority' within in their line of 'work'; they are not "average joe's". I go to my room and say no more.

Even if a Federal Agency issued a CCW permit/license, there are no provisions in the California Penal Code for persons who hold Licenses or Permits to Carry Concealed Weapons unless they are issued pursuant to CPC 12050.

There is a Federal CCW but, requires 15 year experience as a Peace Officer. I'm not sure of the law number. I missed out by one year or I would have one.

H.R. 218, the "Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act," is now Public Law 108-277.

To my knowledge there are no federal CCWs for "Average Joes" and as for "Fugitive Recovery" types? There are NO right to carry or special permits for those types. They fall under every law that the "Average Joe" does.

The correct answer is two. Both reside in S. CA. They both now have CA-CCW's because of car stops. Both names where attached to Federal legislation. DOJ did issue both. No neither is a average joe.

I'll pass on any further information. Yes, I have seen both.

Please forgive my ignorance as I am not a lawyer but it was always my understanding that the government cannot pass legislation to target individuals either negatively or possitively. The above post seems to me to suggest that at sometime legislation was passed to allow these two to have federal CCWs. Am I reading this correctly? And what ever happened to applying all laws equaly, that is to say that everyone one of us should have equal access and equal application to the law?

Why are you using logic in a political situation? I do agree with you however.

I was called a political favor.
