Thanks for the beta. I will follow up after the class and share my experience with future CCW applicants. One questions do you have to shoot all of your guns on your 3 gun list ? I have only put two on for now waiting to see if the changes take place next year if not I will want to add my EMP.

In the past, qualifications were done with one firearm.
You may see in the future, having to shoot with the three firearms. My sense is that it will not be in effect soon. That is only a guess, qualifications would take longer if such is required..
If you change/add another firearm in the future after the CCW permit is issued, it will cost you additional $$$ payable by money order to have the license re-issued to reflect those changes. Right now since your permit has not been issued, you can modify the number and types of firearms on the permit at no additional cost.

Cool. With a time line like this SBC may be getting caught up on their back log of applicants.

Looks like they might be increasing their level of personnel to be able to expedite processing of their CCW applicants. Remember that SBCSD has a high number of reserves volunteers that are actively involved in the running of some of their operations. It is somewhat obvious now that one class a month may not be enough to process their applicants in a timely manner, and they are taking steps to deal with the unusual increase in applications.
Good for them! Better for us!

Ok. I went to the sheriff's office to change some of my carry missiles, went there on Monday 19th, they took my picture, electronic thumbprint and electronic signature. As of Friday the 30th, have not received any new CCW permit.
Let you know when it comes in!

First of all, in the past, those tests have never been timed, they have never used any kind of situation where you are pressured into anything.
You are dealing with law enforcement, but you already dealt with the office personnel, you got treated well, like a customer. Expect the same kind of attitude to continue, you guys must have been doing something right in order to make it thus far! Now they want you to finish the next step successfully. They simply can't do that for you.
Take your time, be deliberate in your moves and use common sense, be safe with your weapons. That is the biggest part that is expected of you. They will want to see you reload. That was the jest of the 5 shots, reload and 5 shots.
If you use a semiauto, no big deal! I think the guys who do not do as well are the guys trying to shoot their grandadies old j frame, 2 in. barrel pocket revolvers, usually a cal. 38 spec/.357 used in the days when Mickey Spillane's novels were a big deal, and most of all, have not practiced with it in a couple of years!!!. Now to most, to 99% of the people , that is ludicrous, so you may not see that!. So go out and practice prior to the test, clean the weapon and go with confidence....fair enough? Use safe handling techniques of the weapon for your own self, and the safety of others around you at the range . Ok? Think before you act, run the scenario in your mind.
If you have a copy of the HSC Study guide, use it, if not Google the thing, "HSC Study Guide", it is on line, prior to the test.
Now, I expect that everyone will do just fine.
You may, or may not be faced with a slightly different test this time, they have a new sheriff, he may want to change a few things, improve it some more. So you adapt and control the situation.
After you finish the test. First thing we ask you to do when you get home, is to get on line and report any new info that you think is valuable to the rest of your fellow applicants. Those that will come through the process after you. We will then disseminate the info to the new guys, so that they know what they are up against and get prepared. That is our pledge for most of us here at this site, to assist you with this process.
I think if you are a halfway descent shooter, you will walk away with the paper. Remember, you are shooting at paper, it does not shoot back, so take your time!
Did not mean to preach, but if it helps, then we are doing our jobs.
Be safe and good luck!
Thanks for the encouragement and info. Lots of help.

Make sure you share your experience here. Takes some of the stress involved away for those who follow you.

Good luck,

Keith
