I've read suggestions that we run our GC statement by some of the more experienced members for critique prior to submission of an application.
Who here would be best to look at my preliminary ideas for my personal GC? When I had a permit in the past (in Humboldt County) the GC was simply for self protection. While that is the underlying reason for us all, I am in San Mateo nowadays and want to apply down here where that won't cut it. I know it has been said that previous permits and out of state permits probably don't hold any water with issuing agencies and that your job, background or hobbies are not considerations per se. However, it seems to me that if they see you've had a permit for years in another part of the state it can't help but indicate something in your favor. Also, while having a law degree and an administration of justice degree (including a PC832) theoretically don't matter, it seems that the AJ degree & PC832 would indicate to the issuing authority that I am knowledgable and probably supportive of police and procedures, especially as pertains to use of lethal force. The law degree would indicate further knowledge of legal use of force as well as indicate that I probably know enough about the current laws to not be put off my application by a simple "no". Comments please. Thanks, Dave p.s. Funny, I can carry in my home state of Kentucky using my FL permit, but currently can't carry where I live. |

CCWI is always a good person to use for GC review/critique.

Your county has been issuing less permits each year for the last four years.
