Default Rejected - Orange County CCW

How many rejections are there in Orange County? I thought it was a walk in the park... I was wrong.

I got my rejection letter in the mail last week.

How can I find out what I did wrong?

Am I basically denied forever, since all future CCW applications will include that I was rejected by Orange County this month?

Who helped you with your good cause? Have you taken your training yet.

I heard once you are denied, there is no point for you ever to be approved again anywhere else or even in the same jurisdiction. It's an automatic disqualifying factor that you have been previously denied.

Did not take training class. I was waiting for approval of background and good cause.

My good cause was worked on with my employer, who has had no problems with others. I am assuming that it is something in my background or previous employment, in which case I need to know. I need it fixed or I need to sue the person who gave out the bad information.

You can appeal. First, your good cause needs to be looked at. e-mail it to me greg@firearmstraining.com . If it looks good, then yes you may have a problem with your background. They do not contact anybody, you supply everything.

He asked the question. No he is not banned forever if he did not lie on the application. Those that do are. He will have to answer the question differnt about applying for a ccw in the past though.

Not true, it depends on why you were denied.

YOU ARE IN "GOOD HANDS" WITH "CCWINSTRUCTOR!"
Listen to him about your "options," as it is possible to "appeal" the initial decission, and have a positive "outcome."

Insteresting...If you are "denied," and later "approved" for a CCW under the same "application," do you have to disclose that you were ever "denied" in the future...either with the OCSD or anyone else out of State?

Yes, you are correct. You were put on hold and approved.

Sir! I read it. Self-Defense and a condition of employment are not good reasons.

NO County in California will ever be a walk in the park till the laws are changed.

I have never seen on this board, "A walk in the park".
I have encouraged people to apply in counties where issuing has been problematic, and we know it can be done, however there has been never a guarantee, this is California. My personal stance is that if you do not try, you will certainly NOT get it. When I say "If you don't shoot, you can't score" is literally that. By taking that action you are opening yourself to the probabilty of obtaining a CCW. Not everyone will get one. Unfortunate but true.

This and other recent threads/posts should be a reminder to anyone who is considering applying for a CCW to do their homework before taking the first step.

BINGO.

You need to go through everything twice (at least). In carpentry we measure twice and cut once.

I was still reading PDO when I applied for my permit. Caccw.org hadn't even opened it website yet and this site was not even a dream at that time. i did my home work and asked an expert in my neighborhood and it worked. Perhaps I was lucky, but I spent many hours anguishing over my application before I submitted it. I had actually stared my research in 1996 and then it went on hold for about 8 years.

Nowdays we have help and it pays to use it.
