I don't see why you would not be able to carry a single action gun for CCW.

The real question is would it be wise to carry a single action gun for CCW. I am assuming you are refering to a revolver in SA only.

If not a revolver, but a semi auto pistol, many of us on this site carry SA pistols. Kimber is a very popular handgun for members. Curently I carry a Springfield Armory Micro-compact on my permit and will include my Kimber Ultra compact on it when I qualify next time.

If you are a little more specific you will probably get more complete answer.

Welcome aboard litespeed, and do take advantage of the information and help here.

Hello SPC
It is an EMP from Springfield. And I would love to qualify with the Kimber Ultra CDP or Raptor also.

Riverside has no problem with you carrying Loaded, locked and cocked.

I have a SA Micro-compact and love it. My Kimber will be on my permit soon.

I would stick with 45 cal as much as possible.

Does the SA Micro kick hard with 45--I read somewhere that 45 should really be shoot out of at least a 3.5 inch barrel length--Is you SA comes with lifetime compare to kimber one year warranty.

The recoil is solid, but very managable. I do not practice with +p, but WWB from wall mart or pmc that I buy by the case. I do reload for practice as well. Shooting out of a shorter barrel will offer lower velocity but premium self defense ammunition should preform well.

There are many of us who have Kimber Ultra compacts as well. I would recommend you try out many different firearms to see what works best for your needs.

I shot a 5" SA 1911A-1 back to back with a 3" Kimber (exact model escapes me right now) but I can say that the 3" made a little more noise and had a little more flash and that was about it. I noticed a slight increase in perceived recoil with the Kimber, but it really wasn't anything more than that. If they both were equipped with the same sights and beavertail grip safety, I'd be very hard pressed to be able to tell which one I was shooting while I was shooting it.

That's my impression of the wee beasties vs full size.
