Just get your UT CCW. Utah publishes a list of approved CCW instructors. CCWInstructor is one, IIRC. Another of "our" instructors on this forum is DocAmentler. He is a very good instructor as well but he only gets down into So Cal every so often. I'm not sure about other instructors on this forum that work in your area though. (So Cal instructors, if I have't named you, it's not a slam, it's just that I'm not familiar with you and I'm from Nor Cal...)
Bottom line is get a UT CCW. As long as you were taught the material Utah wants you to know by a Utah approved instructor, you're good to go. After that, just fill out the application and the other needed materials...

One nice thing about the Utah permit is that you can carry any gun you want with it where the Nevada one has to have the specific make and models that you qualified with in the class. Not serial numbers but still. Much nicer to be able to carry whatever gun you want to without having to make sure it is on your permit. And Utah is valid in more states.

I have both. My Nevada CCW has "Kimber .45 Cal" and "Revolver" as authorized carry weapons. That pretty much covers me for everything I would want to carry, but it does preclude carrying some of my non-Kimber pistols and my derringer if I should get a hankering to carry something different.
