Default Non Residence CCW

There may have been a thread on this before but;

Has anyone experienced contact with Law Enforcement, while carrying a non-resident CCW in another State?

Did you present your Permit when contact was made.

How did the LEO re-act to the non-resident permit.

Or, anyother information that may help others when carrying a non-resident CCW in another State.

I was pulled over in New Mexico because my registration on my car had expired but I actually had the updated registration and the new sticker in my glove box. (forgot to put in on ) The LEO walked up and I rolled down the window. He asked my my license and registration. I informed him I was licensed and was ccwing at the time. He asked me where I was carrying and I informed him my right side. He asked me to exit the vehicle and once I was out to slowly retrieve my wallet. He then asked to see my CCW. I handed it over along with my license. The officer looked at it and went back to his cruiser and called to verify it was valid. Once he had he came back up to me handed it back and the traffic stop went on. When I showed him my current registration he let me go with out a ticket The officer was young but very professional and very adamant that I make no sudden movements and keep my hands in plain view. ( can't really blame him ) I cooperated and everything was fine.

Did he ever ask what you were carrying or ask to see it?

No he never asked to see it but he did ask me what I was carrying and I told him a sig 229 .40. and he did ask where I was carrying it. But didn't seem interested in seeing it. Although he did tell me no sudden movements and to keep my hands visible.

October I went through a DUI checkpoint in Henderson, NV. I was specifically asked for weapons, said yes, gave my Utah CCW she matched side by side to my DL (never ran them) and said thank you and that was the end of it.

Edit to add: I did advise her on my own that it was unloaded/secured in my range bag so it wasn't not on my person. So not really a CCW incident but she was polite and non-chilant about it in any case.
