I don't agree I think it has to be one of your first lines of defence. I am never ever going to lift up my shirt to show my weapon. I think if the situation calls for it then there is no harm in telling the BG that you are armed. Or telling him something along the lines that you are armed and you will use your gun to defend yourself. I like the idea of giving a warming before you draw and fire.

That wasn't the whole story. These guys were there to beat up one of his employees (He had ripped off the thing they ripped off) and he got into the middle of it to be a tough guy with a gun. He owned the business and they used his flashing the gun against him. He never reported anything to the police and the BG did so when the police came to his work he had a gun just like the BG said he did. He wasn't giving them a warning before drawing he was just trying to scare them off like he watched in the movies. He didn't have a CCW, training or brains. He learned everything he knew from watching the A-Team.
