If a business has a no weapons/no CCW sign, does that include LEO personnel? Can a cop not enter a shop with a sign like that?

I wouldn't think that a business would expect LEO to not come in armed or would have them in mind when posting such a ridiculous sign.

A private business can request off-duty LEOs not carry into their business. Certain amusement parks and sports facilities do it all the time.

However, they generally cannot restrict on-duty LEOs with a very few exceptions. I can only think of Mental Health Facilities and Jails. There may be a few more.

According to a LEO family member... he was told in his academy that if a sign states NO WEAPONS and does not specifically exempt LEO's, they can be asked to leave or disarm. But, he was told that he'd only get in trouble if asked to leave or disarm and he refused... So basically, it's is a "Don't get caught rule..." and if you do, leave when asked.

For CCW'ers a little more complicated... If caught carrying, we could be asked to leave,,, and, the business owner could contact the CCW issuing agency and report us... and we could get our ticket yanked for carrying where posted not to...

The "Concealed means concealed" approach, if done right, suggests no one will know your carrying... but... if you're caught at the wrong place and they want to push it, you could loose the CCW... Most won't risk it...

Good advice - Don't get caught.

Best advice - Disarm, or find a CCW friendly place to do your business.

Asked to leave ... refuse to leave... arrested for trespassing...
That's the way I read it...

But I have always belived concealed means nobody knows I have it on?
Right?
So how is they gonna know?

I'm Just askin a question here...
