Default First LEO contact on first day

Had our FNRA dinner last night and we had a sheriff onhand for security purposes. As soon as I got there I introduced myself and handed him my permit. Only question he asked was which gun I was carrying and he was totally fine.

Also I won 2 shotguns (Stoeger O/U and a Stoeger coach gun) and a certificate for some training at Front Sight.

Very Cool. I supplied the full bar at the El Dorado Hills FNRA several months ago. I paid for two of our best bartenders. Two was overkill, but I purchased for them the dinner and loads of raffle tickets. One won a shotgun, and the other won a cooler, binoculars, and a knife. I won nothing. But I had a blast. There was a Kimber Ultra Carry raffle.
Interesting, the group was about 130 people, and a bunch I knew, but few were really drinking. Some mixed drinks, mostly beer, but many didn't drink who I've seen drink in the past. Wonder if they were carrying also.

I think last year was the first time for El Dorado Hills FNRA. I am looking forward to next year.

The event was in town, the locals like to be assured that an event with mucho firearms has some security element. Also after the event the sheriff leaves. Which means it's just us joe regulars in a huge empty building in the middle of the night with thousands of dollars in cash and credit card info.

What bar/restaurant do you own in EDC? It'd be nice patronize & support a fellow forum member.
My folks are in EDH so I get up there often (not that I'm far in Amador County) plus I grew up there, still have fond memories of Poor Red's...
