Ok let me rephrase my question better: Assuming you have no large metallic object (such as a fistfull of keys) and you do not have any specific bank ID on you. What's the recourse? Can they actually legally ask to see your CCW permit?

The Wells Fargo in my area has not been robbed in 4 years since they put th Man Trap in and it used to be one of the most robbed banks in San Bernardino County before it was installed. |

Ha ha
My new bank also has a man trap with metal detector. I went though it about 3 times before I realized that I was the only person that the inner door was locked for. Then I realized it was a metal detector that locks the second door if you have a "large metal object". Each time, they buzzed the door unlocked before I even realized I was trapped. My colt rescue knife doesn't set it off, but if I add a Colt Mustang .380 and spare mag is locks. I've been meaning to test it out with just my Mustang and nothing else. I wonder if a masked gunman was ever trapped inside before they realized the bank had a mantrap? ![]() |

There is a WAMu near me that has the trap but right next to it is a glass door that goes directly to the exterior of the building (rather than to the vestibule like the man trap) that says only for emergency or something like that. Wouldn't a robber consider that particular time an emergency?
