It has been our greatest mistake as gun owners and as CCW holders, and it's a mistake I have learned not to continue.
Interesting take on the subject.

Our focus is on increasing the number of people with CCWs throughout the state and staying within the laws.
This in not entirely true. What about the various posts concerning the ammo restrictions bill? The carrying of firearms in National parks?

There is a very shot list of folks outside of my immediate family (and some shooting buddies here on the board) that know i carry. Among them are my pastor and some LEO's at church. This was a strategic issue as I didn't want them shooting me if something happened at church. Even some of my family doesn't know. Not because they are anti's or anything like that - it is because they have no NEED to know.

Now you didn't have to go and call people "stupid".

I agree with Yellowfin, I talk openly with most everyone about my CCW. I also believe we need to "normalize" the idea of CCW so we do not need to be secretive about exercising a right.
I am of the belief that ccw permits are in fact a violation of the consitution and that we need not have the "rice paper" in order to exercise this right.
I am also aware that in order to stay out of prison I need to get that "rice paper.

It is entirely true. Posts regarding ammo restrictions are for information only;posts regarding carrying in National Parks are so people don't get into a legal issue.

He didn't call anyone stupid, he merely said that telling everyone you are carrying is stupid. The act of telling someone you are carrying is stupid.

I don't see a place to hang my CCW badge on that shirt. Guess I'll just have to keep wearing it on the chain.

Is that shirt lime green?

Concealed has more to do with keeping your mouth shut, than covering your weapon with a shirt. Telling a few close friends/family...or the occasional person in conservative moderation is fine....but you have to be careful and telling everyone with some agenda in mind, is stupid.

We are talking about a firearm here. Some people in public have very strange reactions, opinions and ideas about YOU carrying a loaded gun.

It's for emergencies....not a political statement, form of PR for gun rights or other reason. It's supposed to remain concealed from the public. If you say to someone in public or in a public setting, that you're carrying a gun, it's no longer concealed.
