No question about it, you were about to be taken down. Your daughter being w/you would normally be liability in a situation like that (that's the kind of situation predators look for) but she kept her cool and ended up being an asset. WAL-MART parking lots aren't the safest places anyway but at night they're downright dangerous no matter what neighborhoods they're in.

God bless those remote entry systems which only open the driver's door on the first click. The one on my Liberty works that way. It only took me a second to realize why it was made that way.

I live in Colo. but I once worked on a long term project in RC. I was staying at the Extended Stay America at White Rock & Zinfandel, just off US 50. My first impression of RC was "nice, clean, safe". That all changed one Saturday night when the desk clerk was brutally 'pistol whipped' during an armed robbery.

+1 MAXX

I like the way you kept your daughter close to you by letting her in your side of the truck. Fast and safe thinking.

LOL, kid's going to think he is under attack! Neat decoration, though.

Ya, RC is also know as Rancho Cambodia, my office is off of Folsom Blvd between Bradshaw and Mather, so that just one exit down from Zinfandel.

What part of CO? I am actually sitting in the Grand Junction Airport right now LOL

seems like we drifted there for a minute, but back on subject here, has anyone been to Vallhala? I have watched thier Second Amendment DVD series. I have also spoken with several gents that swear by Front Sight. This little adventure has really hit home for my wife and I and she is really intrested in getting good training and getting her permit if possible.

I live in Montrose, 60 mi south of GJT. I've flown out of there many times.

I played a lot of golf @ the Mather GC when I was out there.

We had a young woman disappear from our WAL-MART parking lot several years ago (that's where they found her car). They found her body in a shallow grave about 100 mi away several years later.

Savage, If you don't mind me asking, which wal-mart was this. I frequent many in the sacramento/roseville area. You got me thinking about which one is safest to go to.

this was the Super Walmart off of the 65 and pleasant grove, always thought of this area as a quiet and safe place, i have since come to the realization that no where is safe.

At least we know which Wal Mart to avoid or park by the front door in the open.

But, this can happen anywhere. I've almost had the same happen in the lot of the Bayshore Mall in Eureka. We have a lot of meth addicts here and homeless who are looking for the quick buck. I have been approached a few times by tweakers looking for a handout or possible victim which is why I always try to park close to a busy mall entrance just for this reason.

If you are referring to the Valhalla, the one in SW Colo, Yes, I have but not quite in time to be able to shoot there. Seems they went back to being a totally private club last year. I did get a tour their facility though. It's a 360 degree range. All indoor scenarios of course, using frangible ammo w/manikin targets that actually fall over when hit in the right spot.

It started out as private club and then after 9/11, they opened to the general public. From what I've heard, the training was absolutely 'top notch'.

As of this moment, they're advertising for 'range technicians'. I thought about applying for the job but it's thirty miles from my house and the last ten miles are unpaved. It's also about 8,500' above sea level and it snows there every other day so getting to work is a challenge between Nov & March and now with gas at $4.00 a gallon...

In case you're interested, a lifetime membership is $85,000 but, they give you a gun. And it's a nice one too; a Les Baer w/the serial number that matches your membership number. Of course you get unlimited use of all the ranges and all the skeet, trap & sporting clays targets you want.

Gen. Norman Schwartzkopf and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar are the most famous members.
