So two deputies are on a traffic stop. I'm in a neighboring parking lot, waiting for the car in front of me to move so I can find a spot.
One breaks off from backing up the other deputy and walks over to my car's passenger side open window and says... "you can't"... xxxx ..."while driving" (some small infraction) ...then turned away. I corrected the violation and aplogized. The deputy turned back and took about 30 seconds to further explain why it's important not to xxxx while driving. It all went by so quick. She walked away, and then I realized, I hadn't told her about my CCW. I think I made the right choice. In my opinion that wasn't really an "official" contact. In fact, she hardly even let me talk. So, would you have notified the deputy that you had a CCW in a similar situation? (For those unfamiliar or outside Orange County, we are mandated to notify law enforcement upon an official contact that we have a CCW) |

Bottom line it comes down to common sense. That was an official interaction with LE. But as you said is it reasonable that you even had a chance to notify?
I think you did the best you could. Friends lets try to keep this on topic. Last edited by 848FPS : 01-30-2008 at 11:19 AM. |
