Default When is the right time to...?

I had a discussion with a buddy a few days ago and we stumbled upon a question neither of us figured was the correct way to approach.

When is the right time to inform someone you're dating, in a relationship, blah blah that you CCW? Right off the bat? 2nd, 5th date? All joking aside, what about in the heat of the moment of ? Do you stop? Inform them? Continue and risk having them freak out from the sight of your handgun on your hip? Or...?

Haha, don't swing that way. But we've been friends since we were 4.

Easy way to do it is to go to a range on a date. If she seems like she's into it she'll have no problem with you carrying.

How I handled it... I took a certain lady in question with me down to PSD to get a replacement license. Deputy O'Brian did it for me: "Are you here for CCW?"

Excellent idea! A range date it is for future reference!

the time is right.. when it's right For one you want to gently feel what is her take towards firearms, and self protection without sounding like a gun freak Also.... with letting her know about CCW you will have to make sure she knows to ignore it in public and so on. And... again, for some it might be first, for some it might be 5th, for some it might be never. Lastly, the right of the bat... make sure she does not get an impression you're trying to intimidate her or something like that as that might get ugly.....

I think having a friend of yours she has just met for the time coming up to her and bellowing "So, what do you think about guns??? Do you like 'em?" works really well too.

Throw your CCW badge down on the table and tell her the truth.

I don't CCW but always try to break the firearms hobby/lifestyle thing on date one. I have had too many relationships start to go well only to find they are narrow minded gun haters.

If its gonna end might as well end quick. Plus if you drop the "You like to shoot guns?" and she says "hell yeah"......she just might be a keeper.

I remember being on a first date and seeing Phone Booth. As the shooter is decribing his remington 700 ......my date leans in and says
"I don't know what that is".....me thinking.... cool... I have one in the safe at home. I tell her its a bolt action rifle commonly used by police and military and can hit someone over 600 yards away.

She leans back in and says "Why would anyone own such a thing???"
She was cute too......

WHAT????

I may give up my gun... but I'd never give up my CCW badge.

If I don't have it on me it's only cause I left it pinned on my pajama's.

Note... The use of the word pajama's was for effect only... Actually, as Female Instructor already knows, I don't sleep in pajama's...

2nd Note: The use of the words Female Instructor was for effect only... Actually, she may or may not know (or even care) what I wear when sleeping...
