I think you missed my question.
What was the other staff's reaction to your part in this? Do they know you carry? Was anyone upset you had a gun and/or didn't use it? etc.

Things are unpredictable. You do as you see fit, with the info at the time. A more aggressive individual could have shot anyone for the power fix of a criminal mind. You have seen the store tapes where the BG shoots the attendant, even after the loot is handed over with little resistance.....Who is to know?. In this particular case it was a situation where everyone went home OK.
An OK deal. |

The other staff members in the pharmacy do not know that I have a CCW. I feel that it is not in the best interest to have everybody knows that I carry. Although they do know that I shoot a lot in USPSA. Since they do not know that I carry, nobody was upset that I had a gun and/or didn't use it. I just think that in a tactical situation, you give up a lot of advantage when people knows that you carry. Plus, I think that most people would rather not know that their friendly neighborhood pharmacist is packing.

Totally agree! The LAST thing you EVER want is one of them in that situation saying something to out you to the BG. "you have a gun do something" I also assume the officer pulled you to the side so they still do not know. Again great job! |

Thanks for posting. You obviously stayed level headed during the incident with your awareness turned up and yet were prepared to do what you've trained to be able to do.
I think hearing about a situation like this where good threat assesment allowed everyone to go home safe, still a little rattled but safe, is a good thing. Great job, and again, thanks for sharing.

So now, this guy has had this easy victory over civilised society and, since it is SO easy, next time he needs drugs he'll do it again. WAKE UP SHEEPLE!!! Its just a matter of time before this guy gets his macho all wired up and pulls the trigger on somebody and it COULD HAVE BEEN STOPPED at the outset. At least put the gun to the guy's head and let him know he's a split second away from going to hell if he does not do EXACTLY as you tell him. Put him on the floor and call the cops, who knows who's son, husband, daughter, wife, father, mother, etc. is going to die because this guy was allowed to walk when he COULD have been stopped.
Yeah I know, the meek shall inherit the earth but when it gets to that state I don't want to be here! |
