Default Thank you, Sheriff!

I attended a luncheon today, and Sheriff Bonner was there. So, I took the opportunity to introduce myself, shake his hand and thank him for signing my CCW permit. His response? "Oh, you must be one of the good guys! I'm happy to do it."

I'm sure he was pleased that you had the notion to thank him. Most people don't take the time to appreciate or even acknowledge someone in a situation like that.
Good for you!

We were in a very public setting, so I leaned in and spoke quietly, but he didn't hesitate to be cheerful about it. It was great! Initially, I was concerned he might be caught off guard and not react too well, but his response gave me the sense that we're of the same opinion: Ain't nuthin' wrong with a good guy totin' a gun!

Very cool. That must be a great feeling.
