Interesting. I was under the impression CA had a law on the books to support these "gun free zones" that businesses declare. Not that anyone should ever find out I'm carrying (that is the point of "concealed" isn't it?) but if they did and I just happened to not see the sign, as long as I leave when requested, I should be ok. Good to know. I'm beginning to find out that a lot of the things I was told in my CCW class are not true. I think next year I'll be taking the class somewhere else.

kern county is like another country... something to remember is that many of the fine smart folks here on this forum live in areas of the State where it pays dividends to be paranoid...and to remember that just because your paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get you... really...the OC being a prime example with the appointed sheriff...So when traveling outside this county...remember you may be in another place altogether...Inyo/Mono/Tulare for example speak our language...the "golden gate"folks not so much...I'm just sayin' and as far as has been said...you can be arrested for trespassing should you refuse to leave...

I swear I never saw a sign however, I entered from the "N" street entrance. That may not make any difference....?? I presented my ticket and walked in the place like everyone else was doing. And to be perfectly honest, I didn't look all around, above, below, beyond, inside, outside or under the doors looking for a sign either. If there was a sign and it was presented in a open area visible to the public, I sure missed it.
![]() However it's funny that at our fairgrounds they have BIG, signs saying "NO FIREARMS ALLOWED,EXCEPT BY PEACE OFFICERS ONLY". I think the KC fairgrounds knows there are lots of folks around here that have permits to carry guns. Their signs are big and bold, and in plan view for everyone to see. I also looked on my ticket and it had no mention of "no weapons" I even looked with my magnifying glass at the fine print. It did say if I was killed by getting hit in the head with a puck, I was on my own. I would have also been screwed with the knife I always carry as well. If I saw any wanding or search of any kind I would have done a 180 and locked up my Glock in my COM lock box in my truck. In fact, I had already told my wife that I may need to do that, so we had a plan in the event that was the case. I had on a very confident concealment/hockey fan type outfit/attire with a great IWB rig for my gun. So, I entered the arena and went about my business and had a great time. I try to comply with all laws of the land but, I certainly don't take the time to check the policies of every business I enter. If I see a sign...great...I take note and weigh my options for whether or not carry, or better yet, whether or not to patronize that business. But that's just me, YMMV
