It wasn't til 5 unarmed men beat the crap out of me that I decided enough is enough. The four times I was robbed with a gun never bothered me in the slightest. My area manager kept asking if I needed a few days off and I kept telling him "no, I'm good." Some of the employees who were there and never even SAW the gun were beside themselves. Go figure.

You can believe that I an always in condition yellow now.

Well, it's really a moot point, as I never make any grammatical errors. I might have the occasional typo (but I catch most of those too). However, if you find any mistakes, they are fair game. Consider it sort of an IAB investigation.

Little late to say congrats on handling that situation absolutely perfectly considering all the variables there. And some great advice given from others on situational awareness. One more thing to add, is that "adrenaline tunnel" that happened. It takes some people totally by surprise and they lose sight of other things goign on around them. Now you know exactly what YOUR eyes and mind will process in that situation and you can now train even better knowing what you now know! I am sure your boys are very happy you did what you did, how you did it, and your friend? Probably would have been a victim in that same scenario. did you ask her what she woudl have done? Probably something a lot different than what you did. I never even think of locking my car unless I'm transporting. Your story has given ME something to remember now as well and to work on with MY situational awareness, so thanks to you for sharing a very scary situation and yoru reaction to it and all of those little details. That is exactly why I come to this forum all the time! I always learn something, take a little ribbing over my obsession with High velocity lightweight bullets, and now you can correct all my REALLY bad spelling errors Somethign for everyone!

Seriously, thank you very much, and I will be passing along the info I gleaned from you to MY wife as well. I actually really like her and dont' want anythign bad to happen to her

Someone told me a couple years ago to lock your car everytime you get out so nobody else can get in. That has always stuck with me, and not just from the standpoint of stealing something. Thanks for the info on "adrenaline tunnel" too. It was a little scary to realize I hadn't seen anything else around me! Oh, and my friend? She would've been a victim for sure. I'm actually surprised she hasn't been already. She is completely clueless when we're out together. She doesn't notice anything.

You did great. Ignore that "friend" of yours who says YOUR looking for trouble. And she might be hazardous to your safety as well... Lord, give me a break. I have been telling people to lock their doors and wake up from the illusion of a safe world for years. I'm glad you listened to that piece of advice.

Glad to hear you are ok and went home to your boyz, you did great!

What is it with gas stations? Last spring a friend and I were at one and these black guys pull up next to us and want us to LOOK into the back of their van because they had some home stereo equipment they wanted to sell us, lol! Told them to piss off and left.

But again, you did good and came home to your sons, that is the only thing that matters, and for that friend, well, "life is tough enough, its even tougher when you are stupid."

Yeah, yet one of the problems is that you can't contain stupid. It ends up spilling on innocent people like your boys. My dad split when I was 12. That was 30 years ago, and it still affects me to a small extent even today. It contributed greatly to the depression and delinquency of my 20s (but I got better, thank God).

You're exactly right. One of the things that makes him such an idiot is he doesn't understand how years of his anger & abuse affects the boys. So I left. And I'm getting them (us) help.

But enough about that...
