For the record, I would have responded differently to the second time the question was asked.

Heh...around here the cop would probably want to compare guns and debate calibers with you.

I'm thinking i would have answered differently, too... It sounds like the beginnings of a disagreement... If i'm approved, the actual cause really shouldn't matter to him. The only thing that should matter is the legitimacy of my CCW and if i am legal within any other rules associated with that.

I'm thinking my reponse the second time would have been, and will be, "the good cause statement is a long one and i don't want to misrepresent it. You would have to get the details from the issuing sheriff's office. In GENERAL though, it is because my work puts me in bad circumstances at times... I'm a contractor. "

Replies should be made in this order:

1. Because {insert LE agency here} issued it to me.

2. Mallninjas. Yep, because of the mallninjas.

3. Are you talking to me?

4. Phase One: Collect Underpants.

If they keep asking you after number two, you probably aren't going to get a ticket. However, you probably will get to spend the next 72hours in a nice padded room.

Yep I have my CHP magnet on.

Funny thing is the wife got a ticket the same day for parking her car infront of the pre school. She was picking up our 20 month old twin boys. The officer spent the afternoon picking on moms who parked outside school ( which by the way is at the end of a Cul-de Sac)

I support LE but this one really left a bad taste in my mouth. I mean come on guys what is the world coming to when LE has nothing else better to do than collect $35 of 5 moms who are picking up their toddlers from Pre School. I bet the officer was really proud to be wearing the badge that day.

You can bet I am sending a letter to the Mayor of Laguna Niguel, I can not wait to see their crime figures, there has to be zero crime if moms and toddlers are now the target.

I have a funny pull over story that happened at the start of this month on me. I don't have a CCW but having one this day could of made things a lot more complicated.

Its a long story so bare with me:

Comming home from work on my motorcycle I heard a helicopter and look up. Hey that looks like a police chopper. (I'm not worried cause I had not been speeding or anything.) The as Im getting off the freeway I see a CHP motor officer in my rear view......still not worried I proceed though my residential area home and ...hey hes still behind me and I see another car behind him......thats odd......why hasn't he lit me up yet......oh wait is that the helicopter I hear again????

I pull over on my own and met with the "show me your hands" to 4 plus officers with guns drawn. Turns out there were 8+ cop cars and a helicopter. So after being handcuffed and put in a car until the finnally the come to tell me that someone wearing a black helmet, black jacket, and grey pants, (all what I was wearing) just did an armed bank robbery in Newport.....right where I was comming from. Except he had a Shoei helmet (Thank goodness mine was an Arai) So I had to "hang out" till people from the bank could ID me.

See, Im not worried at all till the bank people show up and though the car window I can see them making the ....***it could be him face*** then I realize "oh crap.....everyone wearing black and gray looks the same....I knew I should of bought a pink helmet"

The saving grace was the bank teller girl cause she although not sure asked to see my shoes ***Yes, I shouted in my head*** Im wearing Black Red and White Sidi Corsa's (very pricey racing boots). So few people wear them with street clothing. She says "oh, thats not him."

Wahoo, im ready to dance around at this point but I contain myself and they send me on my way.....some 50 minutes after I was pulled over.

Its weird to be so completely innocent but fear the fact that it only takes on retard to go.....oh thats him. And its time to spend a fortune on a lawyer for nothing.

On the plus side......those were some of the nicest police officers I have ever met.

Regardless......I drove my car the next day.

Odd story. If you had held up a bank with a motorcycle, wouldn't they search it for the money? I mean, how easy is is to hide something on a bike?
Guess they were just pulling over all similar parties.

Well I guess it had just happened and I was right there. After searching my bag/bike they pretty much knew it wasn't me but I guess they wanted the bank people to ID me cause I could of ditched the money/gun.

No flame intended but.....it really don't sound like a revenue issue.
You may want to consider how improper parking could lead to potentially dangerous pedestrian crossing situations.
They may have been trying to keep the parking orderly so the view of the pedestrians wound not become obstructed thus preventing any drivers from running over someone's little ones.

There is a 99% chance the guy is there writing parkers because either the school or the residents of the neighborhood called incessantly complaining about said soccer moms who have no regard for the right of way of others.

I ONLY write parkers when dispatched to and then I have to write the others around the one I was called for.

I got pulled over by the CHP last night. He was kinda gruff but nice enough.

Default Stopped twice by LEO- CCW-Carrying

Howdy:

One stop by CHP for speeding on my Harley. "Rice rocket" passed me going 130+++ south on 15 in Corona. I was "caught" because I was only "doing" 80! Keeping hands on bars, I informed CHP (motor officer) wallet in my waistband 11:30 position and besides requested docs I have a valid CA CCW permit and one listed weapon (no mention of GUN) was holstered in my waistband at my 12:30 position. I had to repeat this information again before the CHP officer realized I was "armed". After asking permission to retrieve wallet with left hand plus using right hand too to retrieve requested information, I handed same to officer. Several minutes later after "running" my CA drivers license, I was given back my information and let go with a warning. After I was "off" the hook I asked the CHP officer if it was guilt he couldn't catch the "rice rocket" that he was giving me a warning. He laughed and said "I'm not crazy trying to catch him but I knew I could catch you but I did see him easily pass you while you were going 80 mph!" I didn't go one mile over the speed limit the rest of the day for obvious reasons. My luck I get stopped by the same CHP motor officer later in the day.

Months later, I left Ralphs in Irvine (2 am) after attending a party earlier in the evening. I made a quick right turn "trying out" my vehicles AWD. Within 100' of the turn, an Irvine PD lights up behind me. Two officers exit vehicle! I had already turned on my interior lights, window down plus both hands on steering wheel. Officer on passenger side shines light into my drivers area and "spots" a 12 ga shotgun shell and a .38 special round. He tells the other officer on my drivers side but since I already had my window down I heard him give this info to his partner. Drivers door officer asks about the rounds and I tell him I'm a Cowboy Action Shooter and I was earlier in the day "working" at our shooting site in Norco painting, cleaning etc and practiced afterwards. Those rounds were in my Cowboy shirt I wore home and placed them in the cup holder for safe keeping. All this dialogue while hands on steering wheel, window rolled down, interior lights ON! As above (CHP incident) I inform wallet position, docs, holster position, weapon etc.

Reason for stop was my "unique" turn from Walnut to Yale but was asked if I had been drinking? Diet Coke was my answer since I don't drink/smoke! Passenger officer kept to the passenger rear of my car, one hand on my trunk (fingerprints), the other "resting" on his holstered weapon. The other officer "retreated" to his car and after a couple of minutes retunred my docs.

He asked why I have a CCW issued by OCSD (Orange County Sheriff Department-SoCA) and I told him it was for business reasons. "Have a good night and take those turns a bit slower than you did this morning". I said I would. Wouldn't you know it, since my interior lights were lit for awhile my car didn't want to start! Oh brother but when the LEO driver was getting out of his car, my car finally started. I could have walked home and you bet, I didn't break any land speed records getting there!!
