Thanks for sharing your experience while carrying on a KP campus. I myself carried there recently. I had an examination and used my LA Police Gear CCW jacket and put my concealed weapon in there to make sure it stays concealed in my jacket. No issues so far. The only thing that would cause me concern is that if a technician or nurse wanted to move my jacket while I was laying down or something to that nature, and tried to move it and wondered why it was so heavy.

Word of caution!
I actually work for KP and I am pretty sure it is a blanket policy for all KP sites that guns are not allowed. The providers are required to notify security (code silver) when a weapon is presented. Gun, knife, etc... The fact that these situations played out how they did tells me the staff are not properly trained. Since I work for them I cannot carry as a matter of employe policy but the facilities do have a no weapons policy. Not saying you shuld not carry, just do not be supprised if security is called and you are asked to take the weapon off campus. Carry on!! |

I had to take my wife to the Stanford emergency room a couple summers ago, and was shocked to find metal detectors at the entrance. I mean, Stanford of all places! Supposedly high-class stuff. I didn't have a concealed carry permit at the time, but I was royally pissed that I had to turn in my Swiss Army knife

I've never seen any signs prohibiting weapons at Kaiser and will continue to carry there until I see one/am asked not to, but mainly because my kaiser is in South Sacramento. (NOT a good area for those of you in other places.) I try not to even GO there at night, but with 3 boys...well you can guess how often I'm at the E.R.
When I have an appointment, I generally take my gun out of my holster and put it in my purse. If the doc/nurse sees my holster, it's never a concern. I had a doc ask one time about it, and I said, "Oh, I just got back from the range." I figured he didn't need to know I had a CCW. ![]()

My wife has kaiser and since there's no expectation of ME disrobing I have always carried. Since we're going (it seems like) twice a week every week for the pregnancy I've actually been surprised that nobody has even twitched. I generally carry a folding knife in my front pocket and security has definitely seen it (more surprising was how on the ball some of their security folks are). No problems at all. Mission hospital goons threw a hissy fit over my little knife/money clip when I was admitted last time.
Obviously the firearm is concealed so I'm not sure what their policy is at the kaiser sand canyon campus.
