Default Someone accidently grabbed my gun in public

I was in a retail store last night bored out of my mind, standing on the end of an aisle looking at a display when I felt someone bump in to me and then felt a hand grab my holstered gun!

I immediately grabbed the person’s wrist with my strong side hand and came across their forearm with my weak side forearm to get a wrist lock and felt them fall down. When I looked down, I saw that I had a 5’ tall, young female salesclerk on the ground by the wrist.

She immediately said “Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to grab your gun!” I let her go and offered her a hand up and she said “I didn’t see you when I came around the corner, put my hands out to stop myself and accidently grabbed your gun.”

I told her “no problem” and then said “I’m sorry to knock you down but it was all on instinct.”

She said that she understood that and that she was sorry to run into me and asked me if I was OK. I assured her that I was and she went on her way.

That absolutely freaked me out! I had to step outside the store while Wifezilla continued shopping, to let the shakes pass from the adrenaline rush.

Later, I wondered how that she recognized that it was a holstered gun under my shirt when she grabbed it. The only thing that I can figure is that she has a parent or spouse who is a LEO or has a CCW.

Maaannnnn... That would have me changing my boxers as soon as I got home

More adrenaline RUSH then drinking a 48oz RedBull in under a minute. Don't ask how I know

Sounds like you did well. Glad she didn't get hurt, like a broken wrist or something.

Did she ask if you were a LEO ???

You should probably tail her for a couple of days, just to make sure things are cool.

Yikes!! That's why I prefer to use a shoulder holster as much as I can. Thankfully the climate where I live allows me to wear a jacket year round.

Did she act nervous about it after you let her go? I know I would have. As for someone grabbing my gun...ever since I started to carry a couple years ago I am much more aware of who is around and behind me at all times. She HAD to be CCW'er or knew one to know that a legitimate CCW'er would use a holster from what you described.

I prefer to be one of the first two kind and to learn from others' mistakes.

I'm still a little freaked by it but she never asked if I was a LEO at all. She seemed to be pretty nonchalant about me having a gun on.

I wouldn't sweat it. She was probably just trying to cop a feel.

Women do that to me all of the time. Snort!

Exclamation Practice the "Off-side" hug.

Sort of related to this. Steer the ladies to the side of your body away from your firearm when you see she is going to hug you.

Good thing she did not go after your gun when you were carrying in a Smart Carry...... That is, grabbing your gun
