Actually, over the years I've found that I'm more comfortable in the sense that because I know that I can handle a wider range of things that I might encounter (as one also learns in martial arts [I do Aikido]) there is less reason to be nervous or angry about a given situation - which of course helps one to be efficacious in dealing with it without needing to resort to martial arts or a gun. Of course you should never get "comfortable" in the same sense that a motor-cycle rider should never get "comfortable" - it's another excuse to be "present" in the moment all the time, instead of zoned out and oblivious.
