Even my wife has commented on me not being forgetfull. I've had to leave it home twice, both times we were going to a party of some sort and I know there was going to be some fine wine to sample but the whole time I felt naked.
about 6 months ago I left the house to teach an evening class... was about 10 blocks away... felt this kinda itch at the back of my head...or waistband... had the mag pouch on.. check... had the TT gunleather on... check.. had the glock 20 on ... check... NO MAG IN THE POUCH...... had to drive back to the armory/home and get the extra mag... made an excuse to the kid... "why we goin' back home dad?"... never mind.. shut up... then ... don't tell you mom I left without an extra mag... I'll never hear the end of it...

Never mind I have like 15 guns in the car to teach with... and half of them are loaded...
And yes boys and girls we treat all guns like they are loaded all of the time...
But when Mr. Catboy has to point the guns thing at people.. Mr. Catboy likes to make sure said smoke wagon is loaded with little cans of whoop bottom...and we go to class to teach and then come home late... and there is always the possibility that something could happen on the way or coming home...at class I'm surrounded by good patriots one and all who are armed to the teeth... unless they could only buy one box of ammo at wally world cause some hoarder took the rest...or something... had 23 in class tonight.. warmed my ammo pouches ...

Ended up telling the wife anyway... the kid already knows he ain't supposed to keep secrets from SWMBO... train him early... he'll want to get married someday...

I love the fries from McD's but after seeing that I may not be able to eat them again.

Give it a year or two. I'm perfectly comfortable carrying. Occasionally amused by idiots who have no idea that I could kill them, but comfortable.

Actually, over the years I've found that I'm more comfortable in the sense that because I know that I can handle a wider range of things that I might encounter (as one also learns in martial arts [I do Aikido]) there is less reason to be nervous or angry about a given situation - which of course helps one to be efficacious in dealing with it without needing to resort to martial arts or a gun.

Of course you should never get "comfortable" in the same sense that a motor-cycle rider should never get "comfortable" - it's another excuse to be "present" in the moment all the time, instead of zoned out and oblivious.
