Good News for Fresno residents. Sheriff Margaret Mims is pro CCW and you have a good chance of obtaining a CCW permit.
To apply for a CCW Permit contact Rick Lyons or Jimmy Aquirre of the Fresno County Sheriff's Department at (559) 488-3083, Mondays through Thursdays from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm to schedule an appointment for an interview. How to prepare for your First Interview: -Fill out the California CCW permit application -Type your “good Cause” on a separate paper • Make sure you have all the supporting documentation for your good cause. • If your “good Cause” is business related, you may need to show proof or a letter from your employer. • No need for reference letters according to some previous Fresno CCW applicants. -The interviewer will ask a series of questions depending on what you write in your “Good Cause”. Most likely this is just to make sure he understands the applicant a bit better. The more thorough your “Good Cause” letter is, seems that the fewer questions are asked. Second Interview: - Take a short test about carrying Concealed Weapons - If the interviewer has any last questions, this is when he will ask you. - When completed, you will then be fingerprinted and you will start your background check. Remember to Please Read general FAQ by OCResident ![]() Thank you to those applicants who gave me their knowledge of their CCW proccess. I have a better understanding of Fresno and If you are a Fresno Resident, there is no reason you shouldn't apply! Its a simple proccess. Last edited by The Black Knight : 02-08-2008 at 09:58 PM. |
