Here are some pics of how I have the Center Of Mass case in my car. First pic is where it 'lives'. The floormat is pulled back to show it. Cable snakes along and wraps around seat frame. It is totally hidden when the floormat is down. No one who's ridden with me has ever noticed anything beneath their feet.

Next pic is the case open on the passenger seat. I have the medium sized case, which holds my Compact CDP II easily.

I took the loop that goes inside the case and wrapped it around the lock bracket thingy - not that it matters but it made me think its more secure.

Me too, although it looks like Cowbell's has the small loop (which won't fit over the bracket) in the case instead of the larger loop at the other end. Either that, or the camera shrank the loop.

Thank you. I apologize if that info was already posted in the FAQ when I asked the question. I'll stay up on my reading!

these things rule. I have one in every car, as well as a few spares for luggage.

I think Center of Mass, LLC is the OEM for these they are the only name on the accompanying sheet. I have seen them for sale at several different retailers though.

Look at it this way: The only way to legally transport the gun is in a locked container. When you unlock the glove box and remove the gun you are now violating the law. There is NO way to legally move the gun from a container attached to your car without it violating the law in the process.

The above is the reasoning I can see with the law, and even if it is faulty, the law does not change.

Double check on legal!
Would the Bianchi gun pocket with a lock on it and the magazine in the outside pocket consider to be a lockabe container also?

Based on this reasoning, what happens when you have to open the box to remove the securing cable to carry the box into the house from the car?

Because I have my guns secured in my trunk right now, and I would sure love to be able to bring them into the house to clean them.

As long as the gun is unloaded, yes.

That is the same question I have. If I have to open the case to remove the cable the firearm is no longer in a locked case and I am in violation of the law, so what is the difference between that container and one attached to the car? The point is to be able to move the entire container without opening it until the firearm is to be used legally.

You don't have to use the cable if you don't want to. Or... if you still want it attached to the car... you can use 2 cables and link them together wth a padock.

I would say this case is primarily for CCW users.. it is a way to secure your CCW weapon when you have to leave it in the car. If this is the case, it is LEGAL to be handling your weapon (loading and etc) on public property.
