DMV is not notified. On the other hand....Absolutely DOJ is notified!

I'll stand corrected on this then. I was not aware of the DOJ notification. Sorry for my mis-information. I was mis-advised by the local SO. However when my sife received her CCW from lolcal SO, she signed only one piece of paper, there were no pink or yellow pressure copies underneath it.

By State Law it is collected in a data base EVERY year.

12053. (a) A record of the following shall be maintained in the
office of the licensing authority:
(1) The denial of a license.
(2) The denial of an amendment to a license.
(3) The issuance of a license.
(4) The amendment of a license.
(5) The revocation of a license.
(b) Copies of each of the following shall be filed immediately by
the issuing officer or authority with the Department of Justice:
(1) The denial of a license.
(2) The denial of an amendment to a license.
(3) The issuance of a license.
(4) The amendment of a license.
(5) The revocation of a license.
(c) Commencing on or before January 1, 2000, and annually
thereafter, each licensing authority shall submit to the Attorney
General the total number of licenses issued to peace officers,
pursuant to subparagraph (C) of paragraph (1) of subdivision (a) of
Section 12050, and to judges, pursuant to subparagraph (A) or (B) of
paragraph (1) of subdivision (a) of Section 12050. The Attorney
General shall collect and record the information submitted pursuant
to this subdivision by county and licensing authority.

It is then published here:

Once a peace officer finds you have a CI number, he can cross checked and find a CCW on the DOJ system. This is not easy to do and does take a little work.

Her signature is only needed on the white. The other two are normally separated at that point.

Greg, thanks for bringing me up to speed on this. I really try to stay current and up to date on my information.

12053. (a) A record of the following shall be maintained in the
office of the licensing authority.

I wonder if some of the northern rural counties actually put this information into a computer data base for their own use. Unless they have changed recently, my county just has them in a CCW file. They are placed alphabetically. If an LEO wanted verification, the clerk during regular bsuiness hours, or dispatcher outside of normal business hours, had to go to the file and do a hand search. I notice on my wife's CCW, her CII# and ORI# are filled in. But the space for a Local Agency # is blank.
