By the way did anyone go to the NHRA races in Pomona today?
They really will. My E2D clicker switch was not disengaging for me about two weeks ago, I went down there (15 minute drive) and left 10 minutes later with a new tail cap and an apology for the inconvenience. That's what I call great customer service.

Just FYI though, the address listed on the wedsite is for the corporate headquarters right along side the 405. The customer service office is a few blocks away in an unmarked building. Oh, and they only take plastic- no cash or checks.

Surefire e1e with the kl1 LED head to extend battery life.

Clicker tail cap and its small enough that i can carry it all the time wihtout issues and bright enough for everything ive used it for so far. Also the LED head has cut my battery usage in half.

If i go camping though ive got a kroma and 6p that i use.

Someone showed me a fenix light that has alot of promise also.

I would strongly recommend checking out Novatac. Extremely well made and very compact. The standard offering is 120 lumens at full power, 10 lumens at mid-power and 3 lumens at low power. I have the 120T that I will get it reprogrammed for the emergency light rather than the strobe. From a concealment standpoint the size is perfect.

Speaking of size, it also works really well when used with a firearm in a close quarters environment. When you take a low-light, building entry class (especially with the force-on-force element attached to it) you will realize that the two most common techniques that you will end up using are the "Modified FBI" and either one of the Harries or Neck Indexing techniques. I predominantly use the "Modified FBI" followed by Neck Indexing. Try using Rogers, Ayoob, Thorpe, etc. around tight corners on a hot day with sweaty palms. Now add to that the size and weight of any flashlight.

Granted the fact that the beam is not as tight as the E1B, but consider the fact of how long a hallway really is in an average residence? It is definitely not strong enough to disorient someone at 25yds, but it is enough to identify that there is someone at 25yds. BTW, 25yds. is an approximate distance from your doorstep to your neighbor's (exactly on the opposite side of the street). If you go by the Tueller drill philosophy, then it is extremely disorienting between 0-7yds. I used to carry an E2D (with the KL4 head) and I still do that when I am on a plane, but I always have the Novatac on me.

Hope that helps.

I'm a bit of a flashlight nut so I keep a Fenix T1 by my bed. 220 lumens in turbo mode (1.5hrs) or 60 lumens (10hrs). I also keep a Pelican 7060 rechargeable in the family room. That's that bright long-throw sucker that LAPD started issuing. Great for walking the dog.

For mobile I keep a Fenix P2D Premium on my belt. That dinky little thing puts out 12, 55, 105 or 180 lumens and is handy as heck. And I keep a Fenix P3D Premium in the car that puts out 12, 52, 120 or 215 lumens for 65, 13, 4.8 or 1hrs. I've been broken down lightless on a dark country road once in my life and now I stay prepared.

Currently I have 6 surefires. So can you guess what I will recommend??
Three weapons lights (618,M900,&x200)
Three stardards (6p,M2,&L1)

I carry the L1 everywhere/everday. Its LED and has two outputs high/low without changing heads/bulbs. Soft press is low (10lumes/16hours) Hard press is high (65lumes/1.5hours).

I use the low setting more than anything and almost never have to change batteries.

I just recently acquired a new flashlight....It's incredibly BRIGHT!

Surefire E2D-LED

It's the defender series, so i can use it in self defense if i am ever in a situation. If I can't carry, the flashlight comes with me....especially when out of state!

SureFire 2-stage LED lamp assembly with 120 lumen High output (for 1.9 hours) and 5 lumen Low output (for 76 hours).

I wouldn't be surprised if the TSA didn't like anything CR123 powered. There have been some stories of battery explosions.
