TSA does have a problem with CR123 batteries. But not when placed in a flashlight.

TSA Limits Spare Batteries
By David Becker December 28, 2007 | 7:11:37 PMCategories: Current Affairs
Always looking to make life easier for the traveling public, the Department of Transportation will limit your ability to take spare batteries with you when you fly starting Jan. 1. The new rules prohibit packing loose lithium batteries in checked baggage. Batteries already inserted in a gadget are OK, as are plastic-bagged batteries in carry-on baggage -- limit two per flier.

Feds say batteries pose a fire hazard that can't be handled by existing fire-protection systems in baggage holds.

Default Surefire

I would say Surefire and only Surefire. The G2 is a good low cost one to start out with. Great to carry as part of your continuum of force with pepper spray and your firearm. Plus they are local in Fountain Valley so easy to get repair if needed and they stand behind their warranty!

Hmm, I like my old school 4-D cell Mag Light. I can use it like a club if need be.

On a whim, I picked up a River Rock LED flashlight from Target. It's the black one that takes 2 C batteries that says 136 lumens on the package. I was amazed too - it is BRIGHT!!! I would say its nearly as bright as my big Mag Light but small and light. Only cost me $28 and I really like it.

I've got a pelican 7060 and with it, I can read the house numbers 200' away. It's as bright as a standard 4 cell Mag-Lite.

I'm very pleased with my Inova T4. 175 lumen LED. 4 way switch. Lithium Ion rechargeable battery.
They have great customer service too.

I've been really REALLY happy with surefire. Talk about excellent customer service, I broke one of my lights and it was my fault. Decided to use it to hang a bear bag while camping so I attached it to the end of a rope and threw it..... well you get the picture. No questions asked they sent me out a replacement part which I received within a few days. All they asked for was the serial #. Awesome lights almost indestructible.

Surefire E2D LED Defender (x2) - Everyday Carry (EDC) light
Surefire E1B Backup LED - Church carry/"I do not feel like carrying the E2D" light
Surefire 6P LED Defender - Nightstand light
Surefire 6P LED - Car flashlight
Surefire X300 Weaponlight - On my Kimber Custom TLE/RL II right next to my bed.

Surefire E1B Backup LED - My wife's EDC light that she companies with the Kimber Guardian Angel Pepper Spray.

I would say that Surefire is the way to go! Excellent product, but a little overpriced. With that kind of quality though, I cannot blame them.

You forgot:

Surefire 6Z/Z2 - Cane mounted flashlight. (What? Am I the only one who's thought of it?)

I've been trying out a new one that I picked up on ebay...

See the review here...

It is made by Solarforce and is an LED light which runs on2 of the CR123As. It's rated at 300 lumins. It is a bit bit bigger than i had thought it would be, but not too bad. And, as an LED, doesn't heat up.

i also got the car charger for it - out the door, $37.00

Ooooo... That looks nice. I've been considering either this light, Regal WT1, or a Nightcore Extreme. Please let us know your personal experience, likes and dislikes of this light.

So far, I really like it - it is a bit big for the pocket though. Great for a nightstand or BOB.

I love my new lens light flashlight! The beam pattern is like nothing else. Solid LED lumens prject the bean evenly spread across the diameter of the beam pattern.

Its now my daily flashlight!
