Default Sig Mags

Ok...are there any quality aftermarket Sig mag manufacturers?

I don't want to pay the fortune that Sig wants for their mediocre mags, but there are also some really cheap ($12) third party mags that seem too cheap to be satisfactory.

Anyone have any leads on some mid priced mags that are quality?

Default mec-gar mags

I have been really happy with mec-gar magazines.

Mec-Gar - World's Finest Firearm Magazines

They claim to be the OEM for many of the firearm manufactures, including Sig. At least that is what one of their reps told me when I called them. Quality seems to good and nearly identical to the originals that came with my Sig. And you do save a little when compared to full retail for sig mags.

I just bought a SIG 220 with rail. It came with 2 Sig and one stainless Pachmayer mag. I'll let you have the Pachmayer one for a few bucks if you want it. Looks nice and brand new, but I only do factory.

You bought a 220? Compact, Carry or Full?

Let me know how much you want for it...(the Mag)

And I forgot about Mec Gar...I had a couple for my old Ruger P89, but you couldn't break them down to properly clean them.

But, alas, Mec Gar doesn't seem to make them for the 220 Carry

I bought the full size with the rail. The older I get the bigger my guns....never mind.
I don't know if the mag is the same on the P220 and the 220 Carry. You can try it and let me know what it's worth.
FYI: SIG factory are made in Italy, too. You probably know that alreday, but I thought I'd mention it.
If you find a good source for SIG factory 8 rounders please post it. I need two.

I have an old 220 full size and bought the smaller 220CarryR-SAO. I thought that the mags would be interchangeable. The 220 mags work in my 245, but not vice versa for obvious reasons. The mags for the 220 and 220Carry have different feed lips and configuration, they are both Sig factory mags but do not function properly in the other pistol. In the 220Carry, the 220 mags will feed the first round but will not load the second round at all. After trying that I did not try doing the reverse.

Yeah, I got the DAK though, single action only, bobbed hammer.

It's great for the reason I bought it, but I still want to get a 220 compact SA

I think they are the same mag's...I think the difference is the barrel length, but I could be wrong. The compact has the shortened grip.

I'll fill you in if I find another source for mags...maybe factory is the way for me to go.

Just Saw Hyg's post...Hmmm...sucks that they aren't interchangeable.

Sorry fellas, 3 months and 900 rounds later I have to take back the information that I posted on this matter. I re-examined the two magazines closer. The feed lips are the same, its the followers that are completely different. Pease remember that when I originally posted the above information, I had just acquired the Sig 220Carry-R SAO. The information is correct . . . for back then. Now re-attempting the same experiment came out with different results. I used four .45 snap caps loaded into each pistol's magazine and inserted them into the other pistol. I racked the slides by hand and they functioned correctly. This time I was brave enough to do it in my standard Sig 220 also giving the same results. My apologies.

Default ACT MAG/ Novak MAG

Cope's sells the ACT magazines for the P220. ACT was supposedly started by people that left Mec-gar. I have had great luck with these.
