Where can I get one of those lime green CalCCW shirts? We need those for group identification purposes.
Whoa! Great idea there, T52... I think you're on to something.

For recognition purposes we could desiginate a color of the day... You know, green on Monday, blue on Tuesday and Black anytime we're near a shopping mall...

This would make it so much easier to pick one of our own out of the crowd, and should serve to drive the 's crazy.

Plus, we'd get points for color coordination...

And... everyone knows chicks dig a man with a sense of fashion...

Hey now! That's a great idea. We need to add those to the site's online store.

Badges can be a sore subject!.
There has been cases, specially when a new agency gets organized and activated, where the feds do not allow the issuance of badges to members of those federal agencies they do not want to support, a turf or jurisdiction thing.....silly boys!!!!
So don't let the "real" LEOs catch you with one, that is one sure way to piss people off, you will be an usurper....bad juju!
Personally, I don't need no stinking badges. Sorry that I can't expand on the thought, sort of a private joke!
I think that happened to the FBI when it was first activated. Those guys did not even carry guns, if I am correct.

I've know officers who thought they were a good idea, and officers who thought they were a terrible idea. Personally, I think the bad outweighs the good.

One of the obstacles we in the CCW community often have to deal with is the perception that we are LEO wannabes, and that we're on some macho trip and just looking for someone to shoot. So, as I see it, whether or not you intend it, having a CCW badge just adds to that misperception. That alone -- nevermind the fact that it may cause your issuing agency to pull your CCW -- is reason enough not to have one.

Agreed!.
The "wanna be" situation is at the forefront of this issue.

That "wanna be" perception is the one I hated the most.

Default Serious note on colors

The lime green t-shirt aside, colors can be a problem. Lime green is the chosen color of a large motorcycle club, as is red and white. In some parts of south central LA red or blue t-shirts can spoil your day.

I was working at the Santa Ana courthouse for a bit and the ride to Surf City is all city streets. I tried many routes, traversing a variety of gang turf. One striking thing I noticed, was the almost uniform-like white t-shirts junior high kids wore. White being a neutral color.

cheers

LIME GREEN!

Here's the story. We have a very famous person on this site. I let the cat out of the bag, and said he was famous but not that famous to have a restaurant to stop talking when he walked in.

His reply was, "When I walk in wearing a Lime Green Speedo everybody stops talking" The group took his comment as a clue. He nor I did not know if you Google his clue you come up with a photo of Matt Damon.

That comment comes up alot. It went from that to a lime green gunthong. It never dies. . . .

YES! Exactly. But it is their perception, their problem. "The movement of the pray, stimulates the predator", Think about that!
There must be a payback to the owner of the perception.
I can say this, what I wanted to be....... I have been!
I consciously tried to never put myself above anyone for that, Thank God!.
That "elevated" feeling! I saw that in some of the higher pay grade and I always reminded myself not to act like that when I got there.
I got there!
