Is California legal anyone can wear bullet vest for protection purpose while in public or someplace? Unless they are not felony crime history.

I think I properly deciphered your post... Yes, it IS legal in California for someone who is not prohibited from possessing a bullet resistant vest to wear it pretty much anywhere. If you are a felon, you ARE a prohibited person. Think about it like this... if you are prohibited from owning a firearm, and you have a bullet resistant vest, you REALLY need to determine if you can legally still possess it. I'm sure that there are some differences in possession rules, but I'd start there. I don't recall any vest restrictions that would allow you to own a firearm but not a vest... However, I think the OPPOSITE of that is possible.

Aside from the potential comfort issues, it may not fit correctly. If it doesn't fit right, then it won't provide you the protection it was designed for.
AMEN!

Make double dog sure it is fitted properly... I wear a vest at least 40 hours a week and the long overtime days seem to always happen when it is 110 degrees or better....

if you put on 20lbs... you will need a new vest... take off 20 and that's not so bad, the vest overlaps...trust me....make sure you go to a really competent person to be fitted

Wear underarmor...period...seriously....it is seriously expensive but well worth it especially when it is hot...

I wear second chance and am on my second vest...the first one expired on waranty and the dept. ordered a new one...

But remember you aren't bullet proof even in armor and there are lots of nasty ways people can hurt you even if you are wearing it... 5.56 will go through the armor, you and then out the back....

The most important bit about gunfights = avoidance

Underarmor is a brand of sweat wicking shirts. Essentially, they make it easier for you to stay cool while wearing armor. None of the stuff that's like it (other brands) that are worth anything are inexpensive. Underarmor is fairly expensive and every other good brand is fairly close to that in price. If you're going to wear armor, seriously, buy the good stuff to wear under it. Regardless, when it's hot out, make sure you also drink water. It's possible to get dehydrated and get into heat illness issues.

x2 that. After wearing some Interceptor Body Armor (US Army issue) through some Georgia summers at Fort Benning, you seriously need to hydrate. Water or a Water/Gatorade mix is best and lots of it (never more than 12 qrts a day though). Brush up on signs of heat illnesses.

Just a small warning on UA though- both the USMC and US Army prohibit it for combat scenarios since it reacts differently when exposed to heat. Unlike a cotton shirt which will burn away if caught in a fire, UA will actually melt into your skin. It happened to more than a few unlucky souls who were wearing it when their Humvee got hit and caught fire.

The same general warning goes for all polypro stuff too. Unless the material is specifically designed to be flame resistant (Nomex and similar stuff), do NOT wear it into a fire or places where you might encounter really high heat.

Well, I doubt I couldn't get process in my Riverside County. Riverside County is not issuance, it is hard to getting ccw issuance here.

This site one of them said I can't go through the process, because of "good cause" needs to proof by police case report, large money, jewerly (protect yourself), and ??? I do not have all of the lists that required "good cause". So I am sad, can't go through the process for getting ccw of California.

Orange county, San Diego County, San Bernardino County, and Northern Counties are almost likeness "Shall Issue". They are lucky to getting a ccw license. Riverside don't, but some percent Riverside people do have ccw license.

So I wear my vest anyways, because I lived in high crime area here.

What do you do that you feel you have to wear a bullet proof vest. If you are not in law enforcement or security work i think its borderline paranoia to wear a bullet proof vest even in the worst neighborhood, unless you are being sought after by Tony Soprano or other gang member I don't see the point. I doubt anyone on this forum wears a bullet proof vest outside of on duty law enforcement or security work.

San Diego County is by no means Shall Issue. If it was, I would have one.

California allows citizens can have one bullet vest, unless you are not commit crime and felony. If you are commit crime and felony you can't buy bullet vest from any California stores.

Correct me, ccwinstructor ? Does anyone of you have one?
