Default ArmaLaser...anyone here have one?

After reading lots of good things about these and their customer service, I ordered one for my new G30 along with their IWB & OWB holsters. Anyone here have one? Thoughts?

I would love one for the HD weapon, can't use it on the carry weapon though. I don't know if it is only our county, but it is not authorized for any weapon on CCW.

My mom has one on her Mossberg which got a chuckle out of me (not the Armalite, but another laser system). She said, "What!! At least I can scare them off my pointing it at them." I told her if the business end of a Mossberg didn't scare them, then racking the slide should have them setting a new record in the steeplechase. But if it makes her feel more secure...

My mom had a .41 magnum well into her 70's. She downgraded to a .38 spl and still has it....at 90.

I'm glad she still has no symptoms of dementia.

...and I did verify that Ventura County has no laser restrictions. They actually have no restrictions whatsoever on weapon type or accessories plus there is no limit on the number of weapons you can have on your permit.

I guess I'm the only one...

I'll post a review when I get it, assuming anyone cares.

Me, too. Last time I saw a laser sight it was making neat circular designs on a target 10 feet away from a 70 y/o guy with Parkinson's. I would be interested in knowing if this would be able to help you acquire a target faster in a SD situation. Or would it be just adding unneeded and unwanted weight to my carry pistol. Obviously, the HD applications are much broader, but that would be a discussion for CalHD.com. (or is that a Harley forum?)

Yeah...I saw those when I read the OP. Still gonna wait for an honest review from someone who will be adding it to their daily carry weapon.

In my short experience with the crimson trace...

http://www.calccw.com/Forums/carry-g...ce-lasers.html

it is a very fast "sight" acquisition.... crazy fast... and I don't have to even have enough light to see the sights... just enought to ID the Threat...

The G30 goes into DROS limbo on Tuesday. I'll post my impressions once I have a chance to mount the Armalaser.

I received my G30 a few days ago and proceeded to mount the ArmaLaser. Unfortunately since it was really designed for rail free Glocks, it did not fit well and prevented the slide from going into battery due to upward flex of the front of the frame. I talked to Rick at ArmaLaser and he assured me that he would honor my warranty if I decided to modify the housing slightly to fit the G30. I'm good with tools, so it was not a big challenge. An hour or so with a Dremel and the issue was resolved. I zeroed the laser in about 30 seconds so the dot was under the front sight post at 15 feet and took it to the range for CCW qual today. It performed flawlessly and was perfectly zeroed through qual and 75 additional rounds. I had ordered the custom Don Hume IWB and OWB holsters from ArmaLaser. The IWB unit was very tight but after a bit of "persuasion" if now fits well and is very comfortable when worn at about 4 o'clock. The OWB unit just does not work for me so I'm going to return it.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the unit despite having to make the mods for the G30. I'm going to put another few hundred rounds through the gun this weekend so I'll report back any anomalies. For $120, it's a bargain IMO.

Here are a few pics of the gun/laser/holster:

Nice. Good review, keep us posted on this weekends events, too. I assume that if it mounts solidly enough to the trigger guard to push up the frame of the gun it must be firmly affixed. Hard to believe that thing could push up the frame into the slide. You could probably take a swing at a perps head with that thing on and still be sighted in. $120 is pretty steep, too. I don't have that much trouble acquiring targets with the iron sights so I can't see dropping that much for my gun, might just be a good idea for the wife though.

Personally, I got the laser for low light encounters plus anything that will assist me to get on target under stress in all light conditions is a bonus. The cost for night sights + installation is comparable and I did not want to lose the stock Glock sights, which I like a lot.
